Curriculum development 

I have considerable experience supporting senior and subject leaders in curriculum review and development. This includes advising on and supporting leaders with the development of  well-sequenced, long and medium-term curriculum subject planning that provides a sound base for effective teaching, assessment, and learning.

Making assessment information meaningful.

Schools often invest much time and energy into collecting assessment information. However, the quality of the information and the extent to which it is analysed and utilised to inform school improvement can be limited. Increasingly school leaders are questioning the validity of the assessment data and wondering how meaningful information can be gleaned about pupils’ progress. My time as an HMI provided me with a sharp insight into the potential pitfalls schools can face. Drawing on this experience, as well as that of developing assessment and tracking approaches at school level, I can work with you to maximise the way you use assessment information and ensure it is meaningful and worthwhile.
